Description
Pinocchio Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio Watercolor Painting for Collectible Card (Walt Disney, c. 1940). To promote Walt Disney's new film Pinocchio, the studio partnered with the European cookie company De Beukelaer and created a collectible series of beautifully-illustrated sticker cards. The complete set was comprised of 125 different color cards, which could be found in cookie packages and affixed in a special album. The cards illustrated virtually the entirety of Disney's Pinocchio, and the album contained the narrative, so collecting all 125 cards would create a wonderfully-illustrated storybook telling the tale of Pinocchio. This is a stunning original watercolor illustration created for this collectible series of stickers. This particular image can be found on card #85, and the painting is breathtaking! It is incredibly detailed, with beautifully vibrant watercolors and contrasting black ink lines creating a spectacular image of the donkey-eared Pinocchio and his conscience, Jiminy Cricket. The piece is intricately painted on 3.5" x 5" board. This little masterpiece is in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including pinholes in the top corners and minor abrasion on the back of the board.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Pinocchio.
