Description
Pocahontas Ratcliffe, Thomas, Lon and Ben Presentation Cel and Master Production Background Setup Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1995). "It's a trick, don't you see? Fire!" Ratcliffe pleads angrily to his men, who simply stare at him. Offered in this lot are TWO setups that both contain original production backgrounds with presentation character cels. The setups were created for initial sale in the Art of Pocahontas Auction held in NY on 2/24/96 as Lot 266. You will see these images at or around the 1:09:36 mark in the film. Because Pocahontas was not traditionally animated using production cels, Disney hand-inked and hand-painted these presentation cels at the world-famous Disney Ink and Paint Department in Burbank. The cels are paired with the hand-painted Key Master backgrounds used in the film. The piece with Ratcliffe measures 12.5" x 17" and matted to 22.5" x 16.75". The cel with the other men measures an impressive 12" x 34", matted to 39.5" x 16". Both contain a Disney seal in lower right. A great pair of original production background paintings from this gorgeous film. Condition is Fine.Auction Info
