Description
A Wish for Wings That Work Opus Production Cel Scene Signed by Berke Breathed (Amblin/Universal, 1991). Little Opus the Penguin (a bird that cannot fly) looks up at the angel on the Christmas tree as he makes his wish, in this sweet original hand-painted 12 field 2-cel production scene. It's from the animated special based on Berkeley Breathed's 1991 book, which originally aired on CBS-TV on 12/18, 1991. Opus was featured in Breathed's Bloom County newspaper comic strip ran from 1980 to 1989 before it was revived in 2015, and in later strips Outland (1989-1995) and Opus (2003-2008). Opus and his shadow have an approximate image size of 3.25" x 5.25". The cels include an MCA/Universal seal in the lower left, and is boldly hand-signed along the right side. A Universal Cartoon Studios Certificate of Authenticity is included. Cel condition is Very Good to Fine with light handling.Auction Info
