Description
Flying Fever and Barnyard WAAC Gandy Goose and Hens Studio Model Sheet Print Pair (Terrytoons, 1941/42). Gandy Goose and a gaggle of hens are ready to do their part for the war effort in this terrific pair of studio printed model sheets from two different Terrytoons WWII propaganda shorts. Founded by Paul Terry (1887 - 1971), Terrytoons animated theatrical shorts from 1929 to 1973, with their most enduring character Mighty Mouse still recognizably beloved today. Though not as popular in the long-run, Gandy Goose appeared in over 50 shorts in less than two decades during the studio's prime including several wartime shorts such as Flying Fever (production T-310) for which one of these model sheets was created. The remaining sheet features several hens who have joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps for the propaganda short Barnyard WAAC (production T-335). Both sheets were printed in-house at Terrytoons on 12.75" x 9.5" bond paper, each with outlined image areas of approximately 12" x 9" including vehicles and multiple character models. Each sheet features an identifying production code with a copyright including production year found along the lower edge. Both pieces have been matted together with an overall size of 21.5" x 30" with twin apertures measuring 13.75" x 10". With typical handling and edge wear including slight age-related toning, overall this war-themed pair is in Very Good condition.From the Mike Glad Museum Collection.
