Description

Mickey's Man Friday Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing Sequence of 2 (Walt Disney, 1935). Mickey Mouse is another Robinson Crusoe when he's shipwrecked on an island populated with not-so-friendly natives (and one friendly one). In this original two-drawing 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing sequence, Mickey is using whatever is handy as his tools as he builds a fort, including an animal skull! This short has been banned from television for years but is available for viewing online. You can see the first image of Mickey at about the 3:18 timestamp as he drops the fishbones and takes the skull; this image measures approximately 3.75" x 3" and is noted as 59 in the lower right corner. In the second drawing, noted as 86, we see Mickey using the skull as a wood plane, with curling wood slivers flying off; find this at about the 3:20 mark. Mickey's main image size is 2.75" x 2.5". The art is in graphite with red pencil, plus a spot of green in the first drawing. These rare drawings are in Good to Very Good condition with minor handling, corner fold creases, and mild age-related paper toning.
