Description

The Rescuers Rescue Aid Society Story Drawing Attributed to Ken Anderson (Walt Disney, 1977). "R-E-S-C-U-E, Rescue Aid Society. Heads held high, touch the sky, you mean everything to me." This wonderful 16 field 3-peghole story concept drawing captures all the heart of the Rescue Aid Society song with distinguished delegates and detailed décor. The enormous drawing is similar to the moment at the 7:00 mark in the film, displaying the grand size of the society during their emergency meeting. This amazing drawing is attributed to Disney Legend Ken Anderson (1909 - 1993), a longtime art director and animator at the studio who worked as a screenwriter on the film. He expertly brought the scene to life with a myriad of details: Bianca walking in late, the various contraptions the mice have set up in their meeting space - from the dangling flashlight and coat hangers to the book stage - and even the framed painting of their founder and the Mickey Mouse wristwatch on the wall. This magnificent drawing takes up the entire page, rendered beautifully in pen and ink. It would make an unforgettable addition to any Disney collection and is in Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear and pinholes from studio use.
