Description
The Great Mouse Detective Basil Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1986). We have in this lot an intricate hand-painted production cel that features the clever Basil as he wakes up, realizing that after chasing Professor Rattigan, he ended up inside Big Ben. Seen at the 1:05:35 mark of the Disney animated film The Great Mouse Detective, during the famous scene that blended computed graphics with traditional animation, this two-layer production cel has Basil measuring a spectacular figure size of 8" x 7.5", with the bottom layer presenting the impressive gears from the scene, occupying an image area of 14.75" x 10.5". The cel is shown on a textured paper background for presentation purposes, and the cel bears a Walt Disney Company stamp in the bottom left corner. Included with the lot is a COA. The lot presents some lamination separation, faint surface scratches that don't affect the art, and overall it shows light handling and edge wear from production. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
