Description
The Great Mouse Detective Dawson, Basil, and Olivia Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1986). "Smile everyone!" Presented in this lot is a wonderful hand-painted production cel from The Great Mouse Detective that features our main cast of characters, David Dawson, Olivia Flaversham, and the skilled detective Basil. Released on July 2, 1986, the animated film The Great Mouse Detective was directed by Burny Matthinson, Dace Michener, Ron Clements, and John Musker. This great image of the three mice shows up at about the 58:27 mark of the film after Basil escapes the Rube Goldberg mechanism that Ratigan prepared to get rid of them. The characters measure a fantastic image size of 9.75" x 6.25" on the 12-field production cel numbered 101 in the bottom right corner, featured on a printed background for presentation purposes. The lot includes a COA, and it features a Walt Disney Company seal near the bottom right corner. The lot presents some warping, lamination separation, and very light handling wear from production.
