Description

101 Dalmatians Sergeant Tibbs Art Corner Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1961). Original hand-painted 12 field production cel featuring Sergeant Tibbs from Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), the studio's 17th animated feature. Directed by Woolie Reitherman, Ham Luske, and Clyde Geronimi from a story adapted by Bill Peet, the film's rescue network-the famed "Twilight Bark"-extends beyond dogs to include the brave stable cat Sergeant Tibbs. Alert and resourceful, Tibbs hears the captive puppies at Hell Hall, relays their location to the Colonel, and helps set the daring escape in motion. This vintage studio cel presents a clean, well-posed image of Tibbs, paired with a printed background for display impact. Provenance is especially appealing: the cel was originally sold at Disneyland's Art Corner in Tomorrowland (1955-1966), the celebrated boutique that reintroduced animation cels to collectors after the Courvoisier Gallery era. The setup is matted to 14" x 12" and retains the Art Corner gold-foil label on the reverse. A characterful artifact spotlighting a key ally in the Dalmatians' adventure, and a fine example of Disney's Xerography-era style. In Very Good condition.
