Description

101 Dalmatians Horace Art Corner Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1961). Original hand-painted 12 field production cel featuring Horace from Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), the studio's 17th animated feature. Directed by Woolie Reitherman, Ham Luske, and Clyde Geronimi from a story adapted by Bill Peet, the film introduced the bumbling crooks Jasper and Horace-here spotlighting Horace, voiced by Frederick Worlock. Shorter and stouter than his partner, Horace loves food (sandwiches and cakes) and often reveals a wavering conscience, muttering, "I don't like it, Jasper!" even as he's pulled into capers. This authentic studio cel presents a clean, well-posed image and is paired with a printed background for display impact. Provenance adds charm: the cel was originally sold at Disneyland's celebrated Art Corner in Tomorrowland (1955-1966), the park boutique that revived public access to Disney cels after the Courvoisier Gallery era. The setup is matted to 14" x 12" and retains the Art Corner gold foil label on the reverse-an instantly recognizable mark prized by collectors. A characterful piece from a mid-century classic, blending memorable voice work and Peet's sharp character writing. In Very Good condition.
