Description
Charlotte's Web Wilbur, Charlotte, Jeffrey, and Goose Production Cel Setup with Speed Buggy Production Background (Hanna-Barbera, 1973). Seen at the 1:00:19 mark of Hanna-Barbera's delightful feature film Charlotte's Web, presented is a hand-painted original production cel setup featuring Wilbur and his friends Jeffrey, Charlotte, and the unnamed Goose. Charlotte's Web is the first of only four Hanna-Barbera films not to be based on one of their famous television cartoons. The film has developed a devoted following over the following years due to television and VHS; in 1994 it surprised the marketplace by becoming one of the best-selling titles of the year, 21 years after its first premiere. This charming piece is a must-have for any fan of the classic film, depicting a great image of Charlotte's titular web reading "radiant." The setup is composed of two cels displayed on an original production background from the Hanna-Barbera animated series Speed Buggy, created for the episode "Oil's Well That Ends Well." The background is rendered in gouache on board. Minor handling and edge wear, and the condition of this 12 field setup is Very Good.Auction Info
