Description
Walt Disney Animation Florida Mickey Mouse Logo Publicity Cel, Color Model Cel, and Alternate Drawing (Walt Disney, 1989). Here is a remarkably rare set of artifacts created for the grand opening of Walt Disney Animation Studios Florida. The first of these is a hand-painted original color model cel of the Mickey Mouse logo for the studio, a charming pose of the iconic character at an animation desk. This piece is accompanied by a rare original alternate drawing of the image, rendered in graphite and blue pencil on 12 field animation paper. Finally, this lot includes the final publicity cel, once sold at the animation building gift store at Disney MGM Studios. The publicity cel bears an official Walt Disney seal, and it is joined by an internal letter to Disney Feature Animation president Peter Schneider, signed by Roy Disney, Bob Weis, Max Howard, John DeSantis, and Peter Schneider himself. The color model cel is matted with a window size of 8.75" x 9.75" and an overall mat size of 14" x 17", and the back of the mat bears a Walt Disney World Creative Services sticker. The publicity cel is framed under glass with a mat window size of 10.75" x 8.75" and an overall frame size of 15.25" x 13.25". The frame and mat are sold as-is. Minor handling, and the drawing shows age-related toning. The condition is Very Good to Fine.From the Peter Schneider Collection, President of Disney Feature Animation (1986 - 1999).
