Description

Back to Neverland Robin Williams as a Lost Boy Production Cel with Photo Background (Walt Disney, 1989). If you were lucky enough to visit the Magic of Animation exhibit at Disney-MGM Studios during the 1990s or early 2000s, you may remember this character. This is a great original production cel featuring the animated form of one of the attraction's hosts, Robin Williams, getting to try out life as a Lost Boy in the world of Peter Pan. The process of Disney animation was explained to guests through a short live-action/animated film entitled Back to Neverland, in which Robin Williams was shown how Disney animation was created by being turned into an animated character himself! Extended versions of some of the short's scenes were shown on monitors throughout the building, and this wonderful original, hand-painted production cel is from one of those monitors (presumably Monitor 4, as the cel is labeled "MON 4" on its lower edge). The 4" tall image of Lost Boy Robin Williams is painted on a 12 field, 3-peghole cel which is numbered in its lower right corner with R169. The piece is displayed atop a color photo from the short, depicting the animated Williams next to the other host of the film, Walter Cronkite. The photograph measures roughly 10" x 8". The piece is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including minor line fading.
