Description
Peter Pan Tiger Lilly Color Model Cel (Walt Disney, 1953). Featured in this lot is the brave Tiger Lily, presented in a huge full figure image in this hand-inked color model cel. Tiger Lily is standing tall and proud with her head held high as she did when threatened with death by the devilish Captain Hook after she refused to give up the location of Peter Pan's secret hideout. Even though she has no dialogue throughout the film, she made quite the impression of how to be brave in the face of danger and uncertainty. Based off the play by Scottish novelist and playwright James Matthew "J.M." Barrie (1860-1937), the animated adventure fantasy film follows English siblings, Wendy and her brothers, as they are whisked away to the enchanted world of Neverland by the hero of their fairytales, Peter Pan. The 14th Walt Disney classic animated fantasy film Peter Pan was theatrically released on 2/5/1953 over 70 years ago! Ken O'Brien (1915 - 1990) was the lead animator for Tiger Lily, he worked on the pencil animation for the character while Les Clark (1907 - 1979) served as the animation supervisor. Les Clark is a part of the Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men" making this an historic item to add to your Disney collection. There is a production code 2074 inked along bottom border. Tiger Lily's hand-painted figure measures at 2.5" x 10" and is displayed over a print background for presentation purposes. The overall condition is Good with minor paint loss in shoulder and outfit, warping around her figure, very light debris, minimal handling wear and edge wear.Auction Info
