Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Doc Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "The, uh, Princess will sleep in our beds upstairs." Much to the initial dismay of his brothers, Doc generously offers the bedroom and all seven of their petite beds to Snow White for the evening in this original animation drawing from Walt Disney's first animated feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Intelligent and reliable, though sometimes dithering, Doc is the leader to whom the other dwarfs look for guidance. Characterized by his expressive gestures, he is featured here in a large and full-figured classic pose that can be spotted near the 59:08 mark of the film just after snagging Dopey by the coattails, ready to announce they the Dwarfs will forgo sleeping in their beds that night so that Snow will have a comfortable place to sleep herself. Doc's grand image has been hand-drawn in graphite and colored pencils to a character size of 4.5" x 6.75" with the tip of his foot slightly obscured by the mat. The animation sheet also includes notes along the right edge detailing his head movements. This handsome image has been framed under Plexiglas to an overall size of 18.25" x 17.25" with a mat aperture of approximately 10" x 8.75". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. With typical studio handling and wear including mild age-related toning and faint surface creasing, this drawing is in Very Good condition.
