Description

Loopy De Loop Sheepdog and Loopy Production Cel with Custom Painted Background Group of 5 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1959-95). Highly misunderstood, the kind-hearted Loopy De loop constantly tries to show people that wolves are not that bad. Despite his various attempts to show his good-hearted deeds, the wolf usually gets misunderstood. Nonetheless, Loopy is persistent in his task to clear the name of wolves everywhere. Loopy De Loop was first introduced in theaters on 11/5/1959 and lasted for 48 episodes, being the first cartoon released in theaters by the Hanna-Barbera Studios. From the beloved cartoon, we have five magnificent hand-inked and hand-painted production cels featuring the gentleman Loopy and his friend the Sheepdog in this lot. Three of the cels (numbered B6, B9, and B11 in the bottom right corner) present the French wolf in full figure, measuring from 4.5" to 5.25", and one of them (B11) features Loopy running, with a great brushed effect. One of the cels (DB7) has the Sheepdog presented in full figure measuring about 4.5 tall. Sheepdog and Loopy share one of the cels (B-12), with both characters sharing an image size of 5.25" x 5.25". The cels are all features on custom-painted backgrounds mounted on boards, and they all show very light handling and edge wear from production. The overall condition of this lot is Very Good.
