Samuel "Sam" Armstrong Nosing Through the News Editorial Comics Panel Original Art (Tacoma, Wash., News-Tribune, c. 1920s). Sam Armstrong (1893 - 1977) highlights a few events in this editorial cartoon from a Tacoma, Washington newspaper that mentions the 1921-22 Washington Navel Conference that limited naval arms; a bitter cold spell, and earthquakes that shook the Earth's "innards." Sam was from Minnesota but spent a number of years in Tacoma, Washington, where this cartoon was published. He would go on to contribute to some of Disney's earliest animated features. This comics panel from over 100 years ago is in ink on a sheet of Bristol board measuring approximately 21.5" x 25", with an image area of 20" x 22.75". Bottom edge is unevenly trimmed. The condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear, and slight age-related board toning.
