Description

Jack Elrod Mark Trail Sunday Comic Strip Original Art Dated 12-14-80 (Field Enterprises, 1980). Although creator Ed Dodd had retired in 1978, his byline remained in place on Mark Trail, above the signature of his longtime assistant and successor, Jack Elrod. Where the daily would deal in environmental issues and human conflicts, the Sunday installments served as brief lessons in natural history. This example heralds wolf as a family unit. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 20" x 13.75". The logotype is a photocopy, pasted in place, and starting to discolor. Light overall toning. In Very Good condition.
