Sleeping Beauty Lackey Preliminary Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1959). The tipsy Lackey from Sleeping Beauty raises his cup in this festive lot, offering a sequence of three fantastic preliminary animation drawings. The unforgettable character provides comic relief to a scene primarily about King Stefan and King Hubert talking about the return of Princess Aurora after 16 years of hiding from Maleficent's curse. Created in graphite and colored pencils, these drawings show preliminary versions of what we see starting at the 41:24 mark of the film, with the Lacky accompanied by his lute and holding an early version of the cup measuring figure sizes of 7.25" x 8", 8.75" x 8.75", and 9.5" x 7.5" on the drawings numbered 90, 94A, and 102 on their bottom right corners. The three drawings show normal age-related toning and reinforced pegholes, presenting overall minor handling and edge wear from production. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
