Description
Behind the Scenes of Walt Disney Studio and History of Aviation Film Rental Standee Pair (Walt Disney, c. 1952). Disney's "rollicking trip of the year" and "story of the first brave travelers of the sky" are presented in with glossy publicity prints in this pair of film rental standees for Behind the Scenes of Walt Disney Studio and History of Aviation which each previously appeared as segments of feature length films. Both of these shorts were released as 16mm educational films in December 1952 which the studio made available to rent for $9 and $6. The longer and more expensive Behind the Scenes film starred comedian Robert Benchley in a 26 minute long feature originally released as part of The Reluctant Dragon (1941). The slightly shorter History of Aviation covered the first 18 minutes of the well-known WWII Disney propaganda film Victory Through Air Power (1943). Both standees measure 24" x 18" overall featuring their glossy 13" x 9.75" publicity prints mounted front and center with a copyright stamp near the prints' lower right corner; the reverse side includes a tab/flap allowing the piece to be free-standing. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning, minor corner/edge peeling, and faint surface wear/debris, overall this rare pair promoting educational features is in Good condition.From the Ken O’Connor Archive.
