Description

A Bird in a Bonnet Sylvester and Granny Storyboard Drawings Group of 2 (Warner Brothers, 1958). In this Friz Freleng-directed short, Tweety hides from Sylvester by ducking into a hat shop and hopping on top of a woman's feathered chapeau, which Granny tries on and buys. In the short, Granny is shown several hats she doesn't want, including a Napoleon-inspired model. On this pair of original storyboard drawings is an unused gag involving a top hat on Granny as Sylvester tries to slip out of the millenary shop with Tweety's hideout on his head, only to feel the wrath of Granny's umbrella. In the making of any cartoon, many gags are storyboarded but some are usually rejected due to time restraints, and we believe that's why this idea wasn't used. The drawings are in graphite with red pencil on 7" x 5.75" paper with a ruled box measuring 5.25" x 3.75". The art is in Very Good condition with minor handling, edge wear, and tack holes.
