Hair-Raising Hare Bugs Bunny Storyboard Drawings Group of 2 (Warner Brothers, 1946). "Did you ever have the feeling you were being watched?" This wild "mad scientist and monster" cartoon directed by Chuck Jones is one of Bugs Bunny's funniest shorts, a classic that introduced that orange-furred, tennis shoe-wearing creature known to cartoon fans as Gossamer. Here are two original hand-drawn storyboards from this important cartoon, which was first shown in theaters on 5/25/1946. The first is from a scene that begins at the 1:10 timestamp, as the Evil Scientist sends a robot girl bunny to lure in Bugs. The second storyboard is from right after Bugs has subdued Gossamer by using a mallet to strike the castle wall with Gossie on the other side, who comes crashing through, knocked cold. This scene of Bugs talking (in the short he says, "And so, having disposed of the monster, exit our hero through the front door, stage right") occurs at the 5:59 mark. The storyboard dialog is a slight variation. The art is in graphite and red pencil on paper measuring approximately 6" x 4.5" with an image area of 4.5" x 3.25"; each drawing is affixed to a slightly larger backing sheet. Condition is Very Good with minor handling wear, tack holes, and light age-related paper toning.Auction Info
