Description

Disneyland - Splash Mountain Attraction Vehicle Safety Bumper Prop (Walt Disney, c. 2000s). "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-Ay. My oh my what a wonderful day. Plenty of sunshine headin' my way..." This original safety bumper prop from Disneyland's Splash Mountain attraction is a unique piece of theme park history. Designed to resemble wood while offering padded protection, it was mounted on the backs of headrests and the front of the seats in the attraction's vehicles. Its main function was to safeguard guests during the ride's sudden drops and stops. The bumper is a composite of a thick, painted padded layer, overlaying a sturdy plastic and metal base, ensuring both comfort and durability. Measuring 8.5" x 8.5" and 4" deep, this prop was removed during the ride's retheming to Disney's 2009 animated feature The Princess and the Frog. Despite being in Very Good park-used condition, it shows some surface scuffs from its time in service. This piece, with its blend of functionality and theme park magic, makes a remarkable addition to any Disneyland memorabilia collection.
