Description
Donald Duck in Disneyland Little Golden Book #D92 New Cover Illustration and Mechanical Art plus Published Book Group of 3 (Walt Disney/Golden Press, 1960). Here's a revised cover image for this Disneyland children's book that underwent many editions since its original publication in 1955. Campbell Grant (1909 - 1992), the former Disney animator turned Little Golden Book illustrator, was the original artist for the book and he did this revised cover painting as well. It shows Donald presenting the wonders of Disneyland to his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The cover art is in gouache on Bristol board with an approximate image size of 7.25" x 9"; the artboard is affixed to a backing board measuring 13" x 15" and includes a paper mat overlay. Also included is the printer's mechanical art for the cover, showing placement of the "A Little Golden Book" and price trade dressing over a black and white print of Grant's new cover painting. In addition, a copy of the published book comes with the art. The painted artwork is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five.
