Description

The Lion King Scar Animation Drawing by Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1994). "Scar! Brother, help me!" Scar looks on, unmoving, as his brother desperately pleads for his help in this outstanding 16 field animation drawing from The Lion King by the hand of Disney Legend Andreas Deja. Deja's first assignment at Disney was character design and animation on The Black Cauldron, but he soon started supervising the animation of Disney villains like Jafar, Gaston, and, course, Scar. Deja has said he was initially going to work on some of the more heroic characters in the film, but asked to animate Scar after hearing Jeremy Irons' early recordings as Scar. This impressive 9'' x 8.5'' graphite with color pencil animation drawing is a must-have for fans that you can spot at about 35:27 during the wildebeest stampede. Mufasa is only feet away at the edge of the cliff and Scar does nothing, anticipating what he's about to do now that the moment of truth has arrived. The lot is also a key drawing, noted with a circled 32 in the lower right corner. Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint creasing and residue in the upper left, and a small tear along the bottom edge.
From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
