Silver Surfer Production Cel with Production Background and Animation Drawing (Marvel Studios, 1998). Here is a jaw-dropping hand-painted original production cel featuring the titular hero of the 1998 animated series Silver Surfer. This series famously blended traditional cel animation with computer animation, managing to innovate on TV cartoons while closely emulating the art stylings of Jack Kirby. A stunning close-up of the fan-favorite superhero, this large 16 field cel is displayed on a hand-painted production background, likely from the series. The background is rendered in gouache on board. Additionally, this 16 field setup is accompanied by its matching animation drawing rendered in graphite and color pencil on 16 field animation paper. The cel and the drawing are numbered B29 in the upper right corners, and the background bears the hand-written scene number 228. Each piece shows minor studio handling and edge wear, and the drawing shows light paint debris.
