Description

Gulliver's Travels Deleted Telescope Gag Original Storyboard Art Group of 4 (Fleischer Studios, 1939). Ever wonder what gags were cut from the animated feature Gulliver's Travels? This lot has one of them! The four original storyboards featuring this gag look to have been created for a cut scene that took place after the Lilliputians helped to fix his clothes and includes a Lilliputian businessman selling glances at Gulliver through a telescope - previously used to look at the moon -- for five cents. Lilliputian villagers come in droves to get a good look at the giant who walks among them, including a man whose girlfriend is a little too interested. He tugs her away in the last board while she smiles dreamily. The storyboards for this charming gag range from about 7.5'' x 5.5'' to 8.5'' x 6'' on roughly 11'' x 8.5'' paper and are rendered beautifully in graphite with color pencil. The first also includes a rough drawing of the same scene on the back with practice sketches of the telescope lens. The storyboards are marked for Scene 8-16 and numbered 1, 2, 4, and 5. Good condition with minor edge and handling wear, faint smudging, and pinholes.
