Description

The Pet Store Mickey and Minnie Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey and Minnie take a break from watching over the pet shop to engage in a quick two-step at the 4:46 mark in this classic black and white short. The smash hit film King Kong came out the same year as this short and the world was obsessed at the time with gorillas. In this Wilfred Jackson-directed short, Tony the Pet Store owner asks Mickey mind the shop while he goes to lunch. During the dance sequence, Beppo the gorilla breaks out of his cage and a parody of "King Kong" ensues with Minnie in the role of Fay Wray. This is a very sweet drawing of this beloved cartoon couple in full-figure that measures 5.5" x 4". It is rendered on 12-field, 2 peghole animation paper with the number 63 in the bottom right corner. The scene appears around the 3:24 mark. Minor edge wear and light paper toning along the outer borders. Very Good condition.
