Description
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Doc, Dopey, Bashful, and Grumpy Model Sheet Pair (Walt Disney, 1937). Here's a great pairing, two studio printed model sheets featuring 4 of the 7 Dwarfs from Disney's very first animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Model sheets like these were often printed on photographic paper and are still an invaluable part of the animation process, helping to keep a character's features and gestures consistent through a multi-artist production. First is a "Chart of Relative Fields to the Dwarf's Eyes," created from an original hand-drawn model sheet likely belonging to the film's director Dave Hand, as the top right bears the copied inscription "Return to Dave." Each Dwarf's head averages 2" x 1.75" and a full-figured Doc measuring 2" x 3" also appears. An additional model sheet featuring Doc in 8 unique poses is present, which bears the copied date 9-28-36 in the top right. Each full-figured image averages approximately 2.5" x 3.75". Both sheets also include specific notes detailing the characters' expressions. Both sheets are framed under Plexiglas with matching overall dimensions of 18.5" x 16.5". The Dwarf Eyes sheet has a mat aperture of 11.25" x 9.25", while Doc's aperture measures 10.75" x 8.75". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
