Description

Carl Ed Harold Teen Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-24-34 (Chicago Tribune Syndicate, 1934). Ed's Harold Teen is a long-term precursor of Archie -- dating from 1918. This prankish episode finds the goofy title character sneaking into a movie studio, only to find himself busted by an equally goofy guard. The final panel features a classic example of a comic-strip "PLOP!" effect, a backwards flip denoting surprise. The artist's name, incidentally, is pronounced as "Eed." Ink, graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board. Image area, 19" x 5.5". Noticeable age-toning and marginal soiling. Very Good condition.
