Description

Stan Drake The Heart of Juliet Jones Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-21-57 (King Features Syndicate, 1957). A grumpy author reacts to a sound nagging from his literary agent. The he-vs.-she dynamic, here, is as intense as intensity gets, and Drake's lifelike artwork makes the episode play out like a sequence from some stylishly photographed motion picture. An intrinsic misspelling appears in Panel 2 (wan't for want). Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 18" x 5". Aside from yellowed Zipatone and a stained lettering correction (Panel 1), the art is in Very Good condition.
