Description

Wonderful World of Color "The Mickey Mouse Anniversary Show" Mickey Mouse Rare Sequence of 6 Production Cels (Walt Disney, 1968). "Mickey's 40th Birthday" took a nostalgic look back at the iconic cartoon character we all love. Here is a rare sequence of six original hand-painted production cels of Mickey Mouse with a straw hat and cane from this episode. This is something of a reprise of the 1942 short Mickey's Birthday Party, where he wore a similar outfit. In this sequence, Mickey does a little soft-shoe routine; in the show, his 1928 version dances along with him. Mickey's average figure size ranges from 4.5" to 5.75". Each cel is individually matted, with openings of 7.5" x 9.5", with overall mat sizes of 11" x 14". Two cels have a few small paint cracks and minor amounts of missing paint, and there are a couple of small spots of paint separation in others. All in all, this is a great group of images of the cartoon mouse that built an empire! The overall condition is Very Good to Fine.
