Description

Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color "The Mickey Mouse 40th Anniversary Show" Mickey Mouse Production Cel Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1968). "Later, success and a new wardrobe seemed to change his personality. You could see it in his eyes." Mickey has gone though a variety of design changes over the decades but he's looking his best dressed in this now classic outfit complete with a straw boater hat and stylish cane. Each of the four vertical 12 field production cels were created for "The Mickey Mouse 40th Anniversary Show" episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, airing on 12/22/1968. The episode explored Mickey's history from his inception to the present, as well as the undeniable cultural impact he had had over the decades. The episode may have aired over 55 years ago, but we are still seeing that cultural impact today across the globe as Mickey remains a popular and lasting icon. The cels are all displayed on a solid color card and presented in four individual 11'' x 14'' mats with Mickey ranging from approximately 4.25'' x 4.75'' to 3.25'' x 4.75''. They were created for Mickey's brief meeting with the black and white version of himself starting at around 11:30 in the episode, a nostalgic trip back in time not only for Mickey Mouse fans but also for fans of his voice actor and Disney Legend Jimmy McDonald, who performed his last major role as Mickey for the episode. In Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint rippling.
