Description

Timber RARE Pete Nitrate Production Cel Setup with Master Background and Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1941). "You work for food, no?" "Y-yes." "Then get going!" We're proud to present an incredibly hard-to-find 12 field nitrate production cel, 12 field animation drawing, and Master background from the Jack King-directed short Timber! The short was released to theaters on 1/10/1941 with notable animators like Hal King, Ed Love, and Dick Lundy and layout artist Bill Herwig bringing the short to life. Pete, aka Pierre, takes on the role of a logger who forces Donald to work as a lumberjack after stealing his dinner. The nitrate cel, animation drawing, and Master background transport you to the golden era of animation with an amazing full figure pose, both hand-painted and rendered in graphite with color pencil, and a stunning watercolor background. Pete's aggravated pose is roughly 6.25'' x 6'' on the cel and 5.75'' x 6'' on the drawing, noted 29 in the lower right, and the trimmed 9.5'' x 7.5'' background is displayed in a 14'' x 11.75'' mat. They were created for the scenes at around 2:00 (background) and 2:28 (cel and drawing) as Pete's logging company is rocked by an explosion, and as he hands Donald his axe to get to work. The lot is an amazing find for fans of the classic Disney villain and is in Very Good condition with faint edge and handling wear, light age-relate toning, and professional restoration on the cel.
