Description

101 Dalmatians Cruella De Vil Art Corner Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1961). "I live for furs! I worship furs! After all, is there a woman in all this wretched world who doesn't?" Here is an original hand-painted 12 field production cel featuring the incomparable Cruella De Vil from Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), the studio's 17th animated feature directed by Woolie Reitherman, Ham Luske, and Clyde Geronimi from a story by Bill Peet. Created by Disney Legend Marc Davis and voiced with razor wit by Betty Lou Gerson, Cruella is the film's fashion-obsessed heiress whose mania for furs erupts into unhinged villainy-impulsive, reckless, and unforgettable as she tears across snowy roads in her monstrous car. Unlike earlier Disney villainesses, Cruella wields no magic; her menace is pure personality, all angles, cigarettes, and shrieks. This striking cel presents a crisp, well-posed image of the infamous "devil woman," paired with a printed background for immediate display appeal. Provenance is especially desirable: originally sold at Disneyland's Art Corner in Tomorrowland (1955-1966), the boutique that reintroduced authentic production cels to collectors following the Courvoisier Gallery era. The setup is matted to 15" x 13" and retains the coveted Art Corner gold-foil sticker on the reverse-an instantly recognized mark prized by animation enthusiasts. A standout artifact of mid-century Disney design and character animation at its boldest. In Very Good condition.
