The End of Evangelion Asuka Langley Soryu and Shinji Ikari Production Cel (Gainax, 1997). "Kimochi warui." Interpreted in English as "I feel sick" or "disgusting" (a point of frequent speculation by many fans), Asuka utters the final lines in the mind-bending conclusion to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Seen at the 1:26:02 mark of Hideaki Anno's animated feature masterpiece The End of Evangelion, this original production cel captures the surreal final moments of the film. Visually haunting and psychologically evocative, interpretations of the closing scene are commonly debated to this day, and it remains a thought-provoking ending that stays with you long after the screen goes black. This astonishing piece from the unforgettable scene features a hand-painted image that nearly fills the 13.75" x 9" cel. It is numbered A20 in the upper right corner, and the cel shows minor handling and edge wear from normal studio use.
