Louvre Come Back to Me Pepé Le Pew and Penelope Pussycat Production Cel (Warner Brothers, 1962). "Pennies from heaven!" says Pepé le Pew as Penelope (with a freshly-painted white stripe) sours through the air and into his arms - mon amour! Here is a rare original hand-inked and hand-painted production cel of Pepé and Penelope, with poor Penelope passed out due to exposure of Pepé's um, er, natural "charm!" You can find this pose at about the 1:54 timestamp. This Chuck Jones-directed cartoon was Pepé's final starring role; the short was released to theaters on 8/18/1962. The current political climate has caused Pepé Le Pew to vanish from new productions featuring the classic Looney Tunes characters, but for cartoon fans, the amour is still strong for Pepé! This cel image has been carefully trimmed to outline and placed on a new 12 field cel sheet and placed on a print background for presentation purposes; it has also been professionally restored.
