Castle in the Sky Pazu Production Cel Setup (Studio Ghibli, 1986). Trying to rescue Sheeta from the hands of Muska, Pazu climbs across the overgrown roots that have covered the bottom of the castle, and as he tries to reach for a duct, the fire from Muoro's ship gives him enough push to reach one of the ducts that connect to the inside of the castle. From the 1:48:51 mark of Ghibli's first movie as a studio, Castle in the Sky, we get this image of Pazu with the shock of the fire on the back of the character. Displaying Hayao Miyazaki's distinctive character design style, the image of the adventurous character measures 9.5" x 7.75" on the hand-painted 14" x 9" production cel setup, numbered E19 for Pazu, and D6 for the explosion effect. A fantastic image of the character, this setup also displays a fantastic sense of motion with just a picture from the sequence, showcasing the great skills of the animators working on this classic anime film. The setup displays some surface scuffing that doesn't affect the art and light handling wear from production use. The overall condition is Very Good.
