Description

The Lion King II: Simba's Pride Key Master Background with Presentation Cel (Walt Disney, 1998). Here's a stunning one-of-a-kind hand-inked, hand-painted presentation cel featuring Simba and Nala with their daughter Kiara, displayed over a hand-painted Key Master production background from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. The film centers around Simba and Nala's daughter, Kiara, who falls in love with Kovu, a male lion raised in a pride of Scar's followers and Simba's enemies, the Outsiders. This original production background was beautifully painted in gouache on 16 field board. Backgrounds for the film were hand-painted by Barry Dean, Murray Eaton, Jerry Liew, Owen Rohu, Peter Sgro, and James Zheng, with Donna Prince and June Micu serving as key background stylists and Beverley McNamara supervising background production. Noted as "original production background" in the upper left and bearing a Disney seal in the lower right, the piece is framed to 24" x 18" with an aperture of 15" x 10". Both The Lion King and Simba's Pride were digitally inked and painted without any production cels, making this background some of the only tangible production artwork from the film. A Disney COA is included and affixed to the back. Overall, Fine condition with minor handling. Frame is sold as-is.
