The Lion King Timon and Pumba Employee-Exclusive Limited Edition Cel Artist's Proof #AP1 (Walt Disney, 1994). "If you're hungry for a hunk of fat and juicy meat. Eat my buddy Pumbaa here because he is a treat. Come on down and dine on this tasty swine." Now that's a way to create a diversion! Timon (3.5") and Pumba (6") prepare an impromptu luau in this sensational employee exclusive limited edition cel from The Lion King. Produced by Walt Disney Studios' Ink and Paint Department, cels like this one were never released commercially to the public; instead, they were offered only to Disney Feature Film employees who worked on the film. The hand-painted cel in this lot is numbered AP1 in the bottom right corner, marking this as a very rare Artist Proof of the already rare employee exclusive, made for the president of the Disney's feature animation department at the time, Peter Schneider, to approve! The cel bears a Walt Disney Feature Animation stamp in the bottom left corner and is showcased on a photographic copy of the movie background, as seen at the 1:12:12 mark.
