Description

Spaced Out Bunny Marvin the Martian and Bugs Bunny Production Cel (Warner Brothers, 1980). Bugs Bunny learns not to trust "strange carrots" after he's abducted by Marvin the Martian and taken to Mars, thanks to an "ACME Rack and Pinion Super Tranquilizing Carrot," in this Chuck Jones-directed made-for-television short. Spaced Out Bunny was originally a segment in the CBS-TV Special Bugs Bunny's Bustin' Out All Over, first shown on 5/21/1980. Bugs was voiced by Mel Blanc for the final time in this film. In this original hand-painted 12 field 2-level production cel, we see Bugs after he looks up in the sky and discovers he's no longer on Earth - yikes! See him at about the 3:09 mark. There are similar cel images of Marvin like this in the same sequence, but we couldn't spot this exact pose; the scene ends somewhat abruptly, so this cel may have been cut from the final film. Both images are full-figure, with Marvin coming in at 4.5" tall, Bugs at 5.25". The cels are placed over a custom paper background, and matted; the mat opening is 11.5" x 9", with an overall size of 16" x 12". Condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
