The End of Evangelion Asuka Langley Soryu Production Cel (Gainax, 1997). "Nine in three minutes, 30 seconds, That's just 20 seconds each!" Asuka readies herself against Seele's new fleet of mass-produced Evangelion Units in this fantastic original production cel from alternate-ending movie, The End of Evangelion. Determined to bring about the Third Impact, the secretive committee Seele aims to wipe out life on Earth and achieve Human Instrumentality. Asuka can be spotted attempting to defend Nerv headquarters against the enemy Units near the 28:39 mark of the film. This hand-painted 12 field cel features the Unit 02 pilot up close with a look of violent determination measuring a frame-filling 10" x 7.25". The cel is composed of two layers, the main image of Asuka is on the lower cel with the production codes C-419 A-22 END in the upper right while the top reads C-419 B-6 END and includes only her open mouth. The production codes indicate this cel was used for the final frame of the sequence. The lot shows light handling wear from production including minor fading to the Xeroxed linework. Overall, Very Good condition.
