Description

Peanuts It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown "Losing Altitude" Snoopy Signed Limited Edition Cel with Remarqued Mat #222/500 (Bill Melendez, 1995). In the much-loved Peanuts television special It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Snoopy imagines himself as the World War I Flying Ace, who is shot down behind enemy lines. In this long-sold out hand-painted limited edition cel, the scene of the Flying Ace being shot down is faithfully recreated. For many Peanuts fans, Snoopy is their favorite character, especially when he's doing a classic bit like "flying" his doghouse with helmet, goggles, and red scarf in one of the many television specials directed by Bill Melendez (1916 - 2008). The image of Snoopy measures approximately 5.25" x 2.75". The doghouse background is a print, added for presentation purposes, and the cel is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 8.5". The cel, which has a Peanuts Film Gallery seal in the lower left, has been hand-signed by Bill Melendez in the lower right. Mr. Melendez also signed the mat, adding an inscription and a doodle of Snoopy saying "Curse you, Red Baron!" A Peanuts Film Gallery Certificate of Authenticity is included. The frame is sold as-is. Cel and mat are in Fine condition.
