Peter Pan "Sailing Over Neverland" Original Oil on 18" x 24" Canvas by Rodel Gonzalez (Walt Disney, 2008). The Jolly Roger flies high over Neverland with the Indian village below in this fantastic interpretive oil on 18" x 24" canvas by Rodel Gonzalez. The Jolly Roger is the pirate ship that serves as the home of Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, and their crew. As Hook's base of operations, it is the only place in Neverland that can be considered "pirate territory" (other than Skull Rock). Gonzales brilliantly interprets the scene in oil on canvas. Gonzalez studied at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines with a major in painting. He went on to earn a degree in Interior Design from the Philippines School of Interior Design before starting his own band "Side A" in the Philippines. The band is still active today and is currently the longest-lived band in Manila. Rodel was the lead singer. In 2002, Rodel began pursuing a fine art career. Rodel said, "Having the opportunity to create Disney paintings is such a treat because Disney was definitely part of my childhood. I remember watching my first Disney films "Bambi" and "Snow White" and ever since I've been mesmerized by the succeeding Disney movies I've seen." This gorgeous original oil painting is framed to 35.5" x 28". The canvas is signed by the artist and presented in Fine condition. All frames are sold as-is.
