Description

Cowboy Bebop "Jupiter Jazz Part 1" Faye Valentine Production Cel Setup with Production Background and Animation Drawing (Sunrise, 1999). More femme fatale than a damsel in distress, Faye Valentine was getting ready to work off her frustrations on a gang until the stranger who let her use his jacket showed up to save the day (or ruin the fun). From the fan-favorite anime series by Shinichiro Watanabe, Cowboy Bebop, we present in this lot a gorgeous and rare hand-painted production cel setup and an animation drawing of the bounty hunter, Faye Valentine. Premiering in Japan in 1998, and in the US in 2001, Cowboy Bebop has been ever since one of the most widely acclaimed original anime series. This staggering image of Faye running, wearing the borrowed jacket, can be seen at the 16:51 mark of the Episode "Jupiter Jazz (Part 1)", and it features the character measuring a figure size of 10.25" x 8.25" on the 12 field sized production cel, numbered B5 in the top right corner, and showcased on a production background, numbered 117 in the top right corner, rendered in gouache on background board, measuring 15" x 8.5". The animation drawing has Faye rendered in graphite with colored pencil shading and details, on 12 field sized animation paper, numbered B-7 in the top right corner. The production cel shows some fading on the linework and minor paint wear on the jacket. The animation drawing shows a tones area near the left edge of the paper. Some fading can be seen on the paint of the production background. Overall, the lot shows minor handling and edge wear from production. In Very Good condition.
