Neon Genesis Evangelion "Angel Infiltration" Asuka Langley Soryu Production Cel (Gainax, 1995). "What!?" An embarrassed Asuka is in disbelief after hearing that, following the 17-phase decontamination process, the pilots will still need to remain undressed to conduct the latest harmonic test on their Evangelion units. From the Neon Genesis Evangelion episode "Angel Infiltration," we offer an expressive hand-painted production cel of Asuka, as seen at the 3:19 mark. Breaking away from the series trend, this episode's Angel, Ireul, appears on the opposite side of the size spectrum, emerging as a threatening microorganism that infiltrated the NERV facilities. A rather comedic turn of events considering how meticulous the cleaning process was for the pilots! Showing us the more light-hearted side of the cult-classic series, this 12-field production cel, numbered C5 in the top right corner, has Asuka measuring a figure size of 5.75" x 7". The cel is displayed with archival artist tape on a printed background, which includes Shinji and Rei. With faint fading linework and overall minor handling and edge wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.
