Description

The Rescuers Down Under Storyboard/Concept Drawings by Mike Gabriel Group of 74 (Walt Disney, 1990). From the hand of the co-director of The Rescuers Down Under, Mike Gabriel, we present in this lot a staggering set of 74 storyboard/concept drawings used in planning the beloved Disney sequel to the 1977 animated classic The Rescuers. Picked by the then-president of Walt Disney Animation, Peter Schneider, Mike Gabriel directed the film in collaboration with Hendel Butoy, making Gabriel's debut as a theatrical director. Created in graphite, ink, marker, and Conté crayon on 8.75" x 5" paper, these drawings were created to plan the film's scenes, showcasing fabulous renderings of Cody, McLeach, and Joanna. Some drawings present pinholes on the corners, and the lot overall shows very light handling and edge wear from production. In Very Good condition.
From the Disney Feature Animation Director Mike Gabriel Collection.
