Description

Peter Ellenshaw "Canterbury Cathedral - Christmas Eve" Original Painting Acrylic on Board (1957). This is one of Peter Ellenshaw's original sketches that he did for American Greetings in the 1950s. Peter did a series of sketches for American Greetings around the same time he was working as a matte painter at the Disney Studios on the Davy Crockett television series, feature films like Darby O'Gill and the Little People and his work with Walt at Disneyland - Peter was a very busy guy! This illustration features Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, Kent. It forms part of a World Heritage Site and is home to the Archbishop of Canterbury. This RARE Ellenshaw original is acrylic on 12.75" x 9" board. The artwork is signed by Peter Ellenshaw (1913 - 2007) in the bottom right and presented in a 10.5" x 13" matboard. The art exhibits light edge wear and presents in Good condition.
