Description

Donald Duck WWII Insignia Preliminary Drawing for Radio School by Hank Porter (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Donald Duck was Disney's leading source of wartime morale-boosting and training cartoons. When the studio went to work producing custom insignia designs for military units, Donald Duck's temper and determination made him a particularly popular choice, with the Disney duck ending up in nearly 220 insignia! There's a marvelous original preliminary drawing created by Hank Porter for a radio training school during World War II. The insignia depicts Donald looking rather perplexed as he reads a book, with the equation for resonant frequency to his left. The piece is created with graphite and blue pencil on 8" x 8.25" vellum. The piece is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including minor creasing and a few tiny pinholes.
