Paule Loring Adolf Hitler vs. Benito Mussolini, World War II Political Cartoon Original Art, dated 4-16-43 (Providence Journal-Bulletin, 1943). Entitled "Will He Cut Him Adrift?," this very imaginative and finely detailed piece of satire shows Adolf Hitler in a Nazi tugboat with an axe hidden behind his back. Paule Stetson Loring was a Rhode Island artist who distinguished himself as a war correspondent and political cartoonist for the Providence Journal-Bulletin. This piece came from the collection of Private Leo White who was stationed in the Public Relations Office of HQ., Fort Devens, in Massachusetts, during World War II. This piece has an overall size of 13" x 13", and the art is in Excellent condition. The piece was boldly signed in black paint by Loring at the lower left.
